Consider the Lily’s
By-Lily Sue
For many years, growing up in Eastern Kentucky, I felt much disregard and even dislike for my first name, Lillian. Although I loved the way my mother pronounced it. She said it very beautifully….sounding like “Leyan” with a long ‘e’ sound. It wasn’t until I truly began my walk with God, in a loving fellowship, that I learned to appreciate this beautiful, old, and even elegant name; a name with meaning, charm, dignity, and respect.
I long to be with my very precious mother, who taught me through her life and song, to love Jesus Christ and to seek to know Him more. I hope that she knows that I now cherish this precious name given to me by her, and this name, which belonged to her mother, is now highly regarded by me. Its meaning has brought new insight to my own personality and how I can be truly, a “Lily of the Valley” through Christ Jesus, my Lord and Savior.
Consider the lily's of the field. They toil not, neither do they spin. Yet, Solomon, in all his glory, was not arrayed like one of these!
May our Father God watch over you, clothe you, bless you as you walk with Him, learn of Him, and follow Him, In Jesus Christ, our Lord!
