Thanksgiving

Father,
I am so thankful for so many things! I thank you for my family-for the fact that YOU created the family unit to resemble the church body of Christ.

I am thankful for my home, for the food we have on our table.
I thank you for the warmth on a cold winter day.
I give you my thanks for our income, and that you teach us good stewardship.
Your Word tells me to give thanks IN all things-
so I pray for discernment, that I will know how to be thankful for the trials, tests, and temptations that You guide me through and bring me to a higher level of understanding, strength, and obedience to Your Word.
I thank you, Lord, for all things....teach me to appreciate my circumstances and view them as a challenge and not as failure or punishment.
Teach me Lord, to be thankful for the lessons as well as the blessings.
Thank You, Father, for Jesus my Lord and Savior and for the Holy Spirit-Who is my comfort and guide.
I Thank you in the blessed name of Jesus, the Messiah of the world.

Joy Unpspeakable

Suddenly I heard the words of Christ and understood them, and life and death ceased to seem to me evil, and instead of despair I experienced happiness and the joy of life undisturbed by death.

I Peter 1:8 (NIV)

Though you have not seen him, you love him. And even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy.

Subject: Re: Herman Cain Clouds His Abortion Views

Linda,

I read the entire letter and I have a bit of a different perspective and I'll try to explain:

I AM, of course, pro-life in all cases...As am I

I believe that he is saying, although he spoke the way he did, it IS ultimately the mother's decision to make just as God gave us all free will in our choices in life- Very true !

IF one chooses to sin (and abortion IS a sin!!!) they will stand before God for that great sin of murdering their child.

I understand what he is saying as exactly that-the right to choose EVEN if that choice is WRONG belongs to the people, NOT the government, any doctor, or any other person.....but the woman and God.AMEN !

Unfortunately every time we choose to sin we not only break the heart of God, we hurt someone near to our own heart, as well as damage our own spirit and our walk with God! Although we may repent later-the consequences live on!

In the case of abortion, we have CHOSEN to take another life and deny them the right to life.

That is, to me, an absolute insult to God and the unborn child.

As a friend, Registered Nurse, or in any kind of counseling position, I would counsel to NOT abort a living being-but ultimately that decision is up to the mother-not me, not the government, not the taxpayers to pay for her wrong and bad choice-she will stand before a just God.

As for it being a social decision-ALL moral decisions affect society, and ALL societal decisions affect our morality. Good point and I have to agree !

Let me know what you think, ok?

I have been for Cain from the very beginning-the first time I heard him speak and I was against Obama ( not the person, but his way of seeing/doing things) back in Poland when I first saw a picture of him in Germany apologizing FOR America; that she was arrogant, and even many times disrespectful, and he stood at the podium with the The Great Seal of the President of the United States of America on the front-and he was ONLY a contender then!!!! Not even in office-I knew right then the depths of his self-importance and narcissism!

I have a very good feeling about Cain and I think he only meant the best of intentions. Me Too !

I pray that he wins, and maybe he can even get rid of or COMPLETELY CHANGE the system of Planned Parenthood so that they will tell young mothers the TRUTH about abortion instead of encouraging these young girls to have one! (My prayer!!!) again..AMEN !

Thanks for listening to my point of view.

Blessings and Hugs

P.S. I also think he was focused on LIMITED government roles and people's choices being between them and God, because he does think like a minister......just as we think like Christians, all that we do is between us and God-and we try not to do harm to anyone out of that love and respect for one another. I feel POSITIVE that if, as a minister, he was counseling a girl-he would advise AGAINST abortion. I agree !
One more point I'll add to the mix; I know for a fact that in nursing school we were taught that whatever one decides is not our concern and that Planned Parenthood was a 'good organization' I have since learned the TRUTH....they are NOT a good organization when it comes to advising women about abortion-in fact, they mislead and mis-advise to outright lying to the patient-I would NEVER work for them! The depression and suicidal thoughts of a young mother who aborts her un-born baby, having been told it's just a 'blob or mass of cells'
and later realizes what she has done, is unbelievable and she most likely will never truly forgive herself...it takes years to overcome that-and then only through the love and forgiving mercy of God, through Jesus Christ!
Lord God,
It is my prayer that young women will seek to remain abstinent and pure until they are united in Holy Matrimony. That rape and incest victims will at least consider adoption and not abortion! Lord, help our women to realize that abortion is NOT an acceptable method of 'contraception'!!
God, turn our nation back to yourself. Heal our land and our hearts! Lord teach us to discern when voting for leaders, those who are willing to allow You to lead them in decisions. Help us to persevere in doing right!
We have strayed far from you, Lord, and we repent of that!
Forgive us, teach us, help us to learn, as a nation, from our huge past mistakes! Thank You, Father, in Jesus name, I pray.
Your Loving Daughter,
Sue

Today's Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31

The Woman of Proverbs; As Seen in Modern Society

As followers of Jesus Christ, We are the ‘Virtuous Woman’ of Proverbs. We tend to read Proverbs 31 and think to ourselves, “oh, how I wish I could be like that-the woman God intended me to be!”

We also forget that we are that woman of God. We often think we are not living it out, but most likely we are doing what God has planned. If we are a wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend, and if we are one of His, we need to pray for and encourage one another.

Women have a tough role to play out. We are stretched to the limit daily and often into the night.

Day after day and night after night, we are like the ‘energizer bunny’ who won’t quit-not even after we’re half run to death. We lie awake at night and pray. We laugh when we need to cry. We cry when we should be laughing.

We’re a very strange lot, to be sure. We usually doubt that our price is far above rubies, yet it is!

Our husbands and children can trust in us, because we have built our lives around them. After all, God placed them in our loving care-did He not?

We are always available because we love. Our service to our family, children, friends, church, school functions, home duties (which you all know how involved that is!), and even work outside the home, is a result of that deep love.

We are committed because of that great unfailing love. We are love-bound to stand beside a child who needs us. There would never be the slightest consideration to do otherwise.

We rise before the hint of dawn to pray because God has awakened us to the discerning, yet undefined feeling that someone in particular needs our intercessory prayer.

We hold our tongue to halt dissension,  although we know in all truth that we are in the right-yet we prefer others over ourselves as Jesus said we should.

We kneel before God night and day asking our heavenly Father to bring a lost loved one into the fold and to open the eyes of the blind and hearts of the foolish be softened.

We are in a constant mode of “pray without ceasing” because there are so many in need and in trouble, lost, and afraid.

When a child goes astray and is rebellious-we never give up, but show the love of Jesus and help them be secure in that we love them with an undying love, an unconditional love, and a mother’s love. We seek that lost one as the Good Shepherd leaves the 99 to find His precious little one that is lost and afraid, headed down the wrong path to destruction.

We welcome home tired husbands and children, even though we’ve run ourselves ‘ragged’ all day to care for our children, clean house, shop for groceries, pay bills, make appointments, balance checking accounts, keep up with friends, work in church, women’s groups, community , Sunday School preparations, and countless tasks, and often this while holding down a full time job as well.

We feel that we are not the ‘perfect or virtuous woman’ if we fail or omit any one of our multiple tasks each day.

Yet we make time to be alone with God- He is our strength and our comfort, our very bread and water!

We help with homework every night and run around all week-end. We are the “Hub” of the home, the center; we are the one who holds a family together while our husbands are the protective ‘walls’ we are foundational in strength, many times assuming his role-although we should not!

We make every effort to protect those we love, and rarely ask for help; we’ve somehow convinced ourselves that it is a weakness to do so. We make time for others but not always for ourselves.

Our work is never done, still we fall into bed at night having been the last to retire to make sure all is safe, the house is clean, the coffee is made for morning, the children are tucked in, the doors are locked, then we lie awake talking to God, and we may finally feel we just ‘might deserve’ to sleep…..with an ear partially alert, an eye at the ready, the mind listening for that middle of the night call….from a loved one, a ringing telephone, or perhaps God calling you to prayer again.

Our candle truly does not go out at night and in Christ we are  "The Virtuous woman!"

Power in Jesus-greater things will be done through us because all Power is given unto Him!

Righteous through Christ alone….we are righteous through our faith in Him!

Ordinary- we have these treasures in jars of clay; the ordinary made extraordinary in Him!

Victorious through our High Priest, that is in Christ Jesus our Mediator!

Elect children through the precious blood of God’s Son, Jesus Christ!

Royal daughters of the King- of - Kings and The Most High God, we are heirs with Christ!

Blessed because in Him we live and breathe and have our being!

Saints and fellow citizens of the household of God, we are His precious jewels that will make up His Royal crown!

P.S. This was inspired and encouraged by my friend and sister in Christ, Linda.
Thank you Linda, for your prayers and daily encouragement! I would also like to dedicate it to Lora, my beloved and most precious daughter, as well as to all Women of God.
You are a true 'Woman of Proverbs!'

Prayer Journey for America and the Lost World

On or about February 7, 2006, I was awakened at 0200. I was lying in my bed in a very small bedroom in an apartment for visiting "M"s in the lovely, bustling city of Hong Kong.

The room was completely quiet. Darkness would have altogether pervaded the room, but for the dim porch lights that had been left on in the apartment 'across the way'

I could see soft low lights in the window. I was more wide awake than I'd ever been in my life for having just abruptly awakened from a very sound sleep.

I felt the most powerful presence, I felt a warmth cover my body like a warm comforter.

I 'felt' rather than 'heard' God speaking to me. "I want you to make a Prayer Journey around the borders of America."

"But Lord, I am so tired and I just got out of the hospital. I want to be with my family for just awhile. Is this really You, Lord? The economy is bad, and I don't have the means to do this. But I will do anything you ask of me...anything and at anytime."

God's Words were clear. My response is more misty as I try to recall. I'll never forget His Words though.

Now, these five years later.....they are still as clear as day. I have put other priorities in what I thought were their perspective. Was I wrong? Is He still calling me to do this?

The economy is a thousand times worse now. The borders are unsafe. Illegal immigration is a huge problem. A lawsuit was filed against one of our own for upholding the states laws. Now another state is in court due to upholding illegal immigration laws.

The problems in our country have escalated to unbelievable heights. There seems to be anger, rage, racism, hatred, violence, poverty, mistrust throughout the entire country, God is being thrown out of everything, Christians are being more persecuted than ever, churches are being divided, wars are scattered over the globe, terrorism and/or threats have become daily news, companies are being bailed out and the money invested has 'disappeared'

America simply must get on her knees and pray and repent. Bring God back into our schools, churches, business meetings, Wall Street, the military, the home.......bring Him back into our hearts and let us raise our children to know Him, from kindergarten on in our public schools!

Men take over your families and BE the spiritual leaders of home, wife, and children, and govern yourselves the way God intended you to do. Love you wife as Jesus said to do.

Women respectfully follow your husband's spiritual guidance as God planned. Let your sons and daughters see a family picture of what God wants the family to look like! Anything UNLIKE God, throw it out.

When there is no spiritual leadership in the home FIRST-there will be no spiritual leadership in the government...."the hand that rocks the cradle, is the hand that rules the world" can be viewd as:

You are raising up our future churches, schools, and governments....what do you want it to look like?
Like it does now....God forbid!!

"If MY people, who are called by MY name"........
If my people, who are called by MY name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
II Chronicles 7:14

I may never be able to go on this Prayer Journey.....but I will never stop being willing.
For now, my Prayer Garden is my Journey of Prayer for the lost! America, Canada, Mexico, for a lost world, for our beloved China, Poland, Thailand, Taiwan, all of Europe, Ireland, Ecuador, Ukraine, and Isreal.....the one beloved place I've not made it to yet......Lord willing, someday.....In Jerusalem!
There are many places that I have seen and many I have not seen, but I have Prayer-Walked a million miles across the globe, with my husband...and wherever our feet have touched we have claimed Joshua 1:3 for the LORD.
I promise you what I promised Moses: 'Wherever you set your foot, you will be on land I have given you.

Lord God,
Everywhere I set my foot, I pray that I will be a light; a witness for Jesus Christ,
whether in my home country or any of those precious lands You have given to us to proclaim Your Word-Jesus
I pray in His name because at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ IS Lord!
Amen!

God's Love Letter To You and Me

I recently read a wonderful and profound comment about the Bible.
I've always loved searching and cross-referencing God's Word......living.....dynamic....
Faithful.....insightful.....revelation.....and truth.

The Bible is God's love letter to His beloved children.
We open our Bible's and we see the names written above each book:
Matthew, Mark, Luke, John-
The letters from Paul to the churches,
and from Peter, and son on-
yet, in truth all these wonderful, inspiring, comforting, guiding, teaching, letters and poetry books filled with
love, romance, wars, murders, and every sort of story one can imagine are-
all straight from the heart and mind of God Himself-
to you and me......love letters to teach us about God's great love,
mercy, grace, forgiveness, saving power-
everything we need in this life-
whatever we need to see us through
trials, temptations, death, loneliness, sorrow-
pain, heartache, divorce, marriage, worry, fear-
God has shown us in His Word
just what He requires-
just what He wills for us-
He left NOTHING to chance or to guess about!
Find it all in His Word-
His love letter to you-

Dandelions!

Yellow silk. Soft. Shimmery.
Twirling under my chin
"to see if you like boys!"
Chin covered in yellow pollen-
Reflections of sunlight

Touching the yellow silky
soft thin layers of pure beauty
How elegant, how lovely-
How bountiful
The lowly Dandelion!

Rain

Rain pelted the rusty old tin roof
crystal rivers flowed down the cliffs
and formed a torrential downpour
that cascaded into a rapid stream
alongside the winding road-

twisting and turning winding its
way down-searching for the foot
of the hills from which it came,
seeking the end of its journey-
looking for a place to rest.

Lord, thank you for the rain!

My Help Comes From The Lord

                                                             Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills–where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip–HE who watches over you will not slumber;

Indeed, HE who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you–the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm–HE will watch over your life;

The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore
.
In times of fear......In times of sorrow......In times of worry.......In times that I feel faint and weary-
In times like today......Lord, my HELP must come from you!
Lord, I pray for YOUR strength today.......how can I go through this again?
I not only look to the hills for You, I look to the skies for Your return!
Sometimes when I fear for my loved ones.....only You know how

deeply I hurt.....only You know my pain and sorrow......only You

know the outcome.....I look to You today, Lord.....how I need your peace right now!
Lord, You only- know what I'm talking about right now....You and

You alone can give me that kind of peace.
As tears slide down my face and I'm trying to not cry.....I KNOW

that You are keeping Your hand on the one for whom I am praying.
Thank You, Lord Jesus for Your protection, mercy, grace, and for

Your loving kindness.....
I pray blessings on this child of Yours!

Entrenchment/Embedment

We see the word EMBED a lot here, lately because of the usage in many facets of the Internet, news media, etc.

Entrenchment is basically the same thing: 'To construct a defense, make solid, establish firmly, make so as to become unmovable or make changes'.
This word CHANGE is what I'm after today.
Jesus told the Scribes and Pharisees that although they "search the scriptures because you think in them you'll find eternal life........"-yet these same scriptures foretold of Jesus and they refused to see it because they loved doing things 'the way they'd always been done....THEIR way! Not God's WAY, but their way.
No wonder....can you blame them-and don't we DO the same things?
For several thousand years they'd become "ENTRENCHED and EMBEDDED" in their own interpretation and version of God's law!
The TRUTH can be painful!
The truth can hurt pretty badly!
One may spend eternity in hell-IF YOU REJECT IT!!! That's the absolute TRUTH
So many people read the scriptures and make assumptions, personal interpretations, and even spread it around or preach it as gospel truth!
It becomes entrenched as "Truth" when in reality it's FALSE DOCTRINE!
II Timothy 2:15 says,
" Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
James 1:5:
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."
So, there is never any reason or circumstance that should permit teaching false doctrine......not concerning Salvation, Baptism, Gifts, Discipline, or anything at all.
There are so many resources available today such as concordances, commentaries, and of course, the very best and most trusted way is to COMPARE Scripture WITH Scripture!
Any doubts as to your doctrinal stance? By all means and for GOD'S sake and for His children's, for the lost souls......search it out BEFORE you teach it! You know that God sent Jesus as our personal mediator- if even your own pastor...or even an "angel" tells you a "different gospel" you should not believe it....you MUST find out for yourself if the doctrines you're being taught are Biblical TRUTHS ( read I Timothy 6:3) and (Romans 16:17) YOU are responsible for your own soul!

Galatians 1:8 says:
"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!"

Dear Father,
Teach us to love one another enough to look inside ourselves, search us and reveal to us anything that is CONTRARY to YOUR WORD- So THAT we may share your love in a loving and truthful way.....YOUR WORD is TRUTH.
Let us not get caught up in 'doctrines' that are not Biblically sound. You require complete truth and surrender. May we surrender any entrenchment or embedded false teaching!
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!

A Wonderful Proverb To Ponder In Your Heart!

Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.

Proverbs 17:6
The New Living Translation

I have THREE beautiful and extremely special crowns of glory.......three most handsome, intelligent, wonderful, spirited, and precious GRANDSONS on planet earth.
I thank my God for each one of them!
I pray blessings upon them every day and night. They are my earthly angels and I simply adore them. I thank my daughter and son-in-law for allowing me to share in their lives, for having given life to these three special young men. My prayer is that they walk in the way of Jesus, our Lord, listen to Him, obey Him, and always.....always lean on Him in faith and trust. He will NEVER leave them.
Thank You Lord, for the gift of children and grandchildren!

Wind Beneath My Wings

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-T1h7J0R-Q     "Wind Beneath My Wings"

Many years ago my daughter said, "this song always reminds me of you." I felt all choked up because it was such a precious thing to hear.
Yesterday, after working on my blog, I was enjoying some 'alone time', which I don't seem to have much of any longer....well, never did, actually-with rasing two children, working full time at the hospital, missions work, church, and spending time with my grandsons, when they came along- but for me 'alone time' has always been time for reflection on memories.
Sweet memories, heart-breaking memories, memories of places visited, people met and long gone, or becoming part of a 'misty, water-colored memory' of the way things used to be.
Little children, smiling faces, chocolate pudding covered hair with pudgy fingers smearing the high chair as if painting for mommy.
Daughter and son sitting near the fireplace as we played "Hide the Dealy" on a cold winter's night in Sheridan, Wyoming (Big Horn-to be precise), a game made up by their dad in which we all enjoyed immensely.
Flash-backs of little children opening presents on Christmas morning and "wow! Thanks mom and dad, it's just what I wanted!!" As they tore open gift after gift of Barbie and Ken, Barbie's house and Corvette, and Star Wars creatures, snow machines, and Chubaka the Wookie and the famous millenium falcon, to mention a few of the menagerie of Star Wars people and space vehicles.
I cried a bucketful of tears as I stood at my daughter's wedding in the lovely gazebo at the Battery Park in Charleston, South Carolina, when my precious first grandson was born a couple years later, and then two more years later- along came our twin grandsons, and oh, what a night we enjoyed then also.
I looked at some old photographs of my daughter standing beside me with her hair filled with hair barrettes-she got a new package and wanted to wear them ALL at once, her little hands on her hips, standing next to her mommy, who was pregnant with her new brother, soon to arrive on the scene.
I remember how his tiny lips trembled when he heard the song called "Michael Row the boat Ashore", and how we all marveled at his long skinny feet- "he's going to be tall," we all agreed (and he is!)
I thought about our first grandson, oh how very handsome and smart he is- wearing his adorable little Gymboree outfits with the colorful socks to match, his pretending to fish with grandpa with his tiny little fishing pole and learning to cast a net, and oh, the tall tales he could tell!
I thought about one of our twins and the day we were Prayer-Walking in Cocoa Village, in Brevard County, Florida, and he saw a homeless man on a park bench, he wanted to get an ice cream and asked me to buy one for the man on the bench, and so we did and he said to the man, "Jesus loves you." That simple. That child-like love and faith was pricelsess to me.
Later when his older brother and I talked about that day, I'll never forget what he said to me, "Grandma, I wish I could be like that-just go up to someone and tell them about Jesus, you know. " I replied to him, "we all have our own way of showing Jesus' love, some can speak it, others just live it, and that speaks it, too."
Fast forward many years to leaving for the mission field, my oldest grandson wrapped his precious arms around me and wouldn't let go, and I stood there in line at security, with my heart torn into a million shreds. We stood in a family 'huddle' before that and people all around us watched as we cried and cried and tried to leave, yet we couldn't tear ouselves away until the very last possible second.
Then on their first visit to us, the video of my mind plays over and over as I see them arriving at the airport, my oldest running as fast as he could, dragging his own little suitcase behind, as he literally runs into my waiting arms.....making sure he got there first, then along comes the younger twins, hugging, hugging, hugging....laughing and crying all at once-then my precious daughter arrives with my son-in-law....what a joyful day that was!!
Again-fast forward to our son leaving for the mission field, our daughter left all alone-her husband in Iraq, her parents in a foreign country and now her only brother also gone to a foreign country-she's alone with our three little grandsons......alone and feeling abandoned.....yet she knows it is for the love of God that this has come about-how can one fight against that?
How can one even complain.....when God is at the source? What can you do but try to lean on Him for all your support? Who is there to help with the little ones? Who can help them see they are so greatly loved and explain to them WHY they were left behind to live a life without their Dad, Uncle, and grandparents?
I can see those oh-so-handsome, smiling and tearful faces....always before me. BUT-
now although their uncle is still far away and may be for only God knows how long-their dad is home, and their grandparents are home.....but something seems to be lost now.
Years have gone by. Time that can't be retrieved. Growing years that had no one close at hand to share the changes.....no grandpa to go fishing with......no grandma to teach how to do things.......Mom stressed out for the never-ending work, never available husband, never available mom and dad.....brother having lost all closeness-few letters, and little contact, visits once a year, and time-precious years going by ever-so-quickly.......changes, loneliness, memories, yet Jesus told us that if we leave all for His sake He will recompense 100 fold "in this life"
LORD, if I have nothing else in this life-You have given me a million wonderful, sweet, bittersweet, and precious memories.....all I really want is my family to serve You with joy and gladness.
If I could have any one prayer answered in my life it would be that YOU are first, always, in the lives of my most valuable gift on earth-my beloved children and grandchildren.
This is my prayer!
Memories of the love we have for You and one another.....that as long as I live-they will continue to be as precious and sweet as ever.
Thank You, Father, for the memories of days gone by and days yet to come......however long or short they may be!

Love Is:

What is Love?
The "Love Chapter" of I Corinthians is chapter 13. Actually, the entire Bible is filled with God's love for us. Song of Solomon is said to represent the Love Christ has for the Church; His body of believers. I believe it to be true because His love for us is so great that He willingly died for us....for our redemption from sin that came to every person ever born, because of the fall of man through disobedience to God's very first instruction for Adam and Eve.
Yet, although they disobeyed God, He loved them and so He had  a plan for our forgiveness and our redemption through Christ.
Love is not something you just toss aside and disrespect. Love is not something you should take lightly. Love is a free gift and should be treated with the UTMOST respect. Love can't be bought nor sold. Paul speaks of love in this way:
Love suffers long-that means it endures many trials, tests, and hardships and comes up stronger than ever before!
Love is kind- That means it speaks gently, even if firmly. It stands in another's shoes and feels their pain!
Love is not envious-That means it does not resent another person having or being something we wish we could have or be!
Love is not puffed up-That means it is not filled with false pride in self, nor glorifies oneself!
Love does not behave itself unseemly-That means love behaves in a respectful, loving manner to others, at all times!
Love seeks not her own-That means love is NOT selfish, but seeks the benefit of others first-preferring one another over ones self!
Love is not easily provoked-That means love is very patient, listening to another rather than thinking about what will be said next!
Love thinketh no evil-That means love thinks on the good of another, gives the benefit of the doubt-FIRST!
Love rejoices not in iniquity-That means love is not happy when another suffers for any reason!
Love rejoices in the truth-That means that love rejoices when another is saved, honest, love tells the TRUTH, love does not lie or tattle, talebear, or gossip!
Love bears all things-That means love is strong, it can stand strong in the face of trials and tests, listens patiently, prays for one another, supports and exhorts, encourages, and gives Christ-like support!
Love believs all things-That means that love believes in Loving God, Loving People, love believes Truth, love seeks truth, love believes in what is good, love bears one another's burdens, receives one another in love, faith, and truth in Christ Jesus!
Love hopes all things-That means love never gives up or quits! Hope is what we know to be true, we may see it but not now, but soon we know that our hope is a reality...so love never quits!
Love endures all things-That means that love will never die, it is like God's love for us-unconditional, enduring, never failing, always quick to forgive, never holding a grudge, returning good for evil, always abiding!
What is love?
God is LOVE......oh to be LIKE HIM.....that is LOVE!
Only through Jesus Christ can we ever be like HIM
Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself!

Proverbs 30:4

Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is HIS name, and what is his SON'S name, if you can tell?

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
30:4," there is a prophetic notice of Him who came down from heaven to be our Instructor and Saviour, and then ascended into heaven to be our Advocate. The Messiah is here spoken of as a Person distinct from the Father, but HIS name as yet secret. The great Redeemer, in the glories of HIS providence and grace, cannot be found out to perfection. Had it not been for Christ, the foundations of the earth had sunk under the load of the curse upon the ground, for man's sin. Who, and what is the MIGHTY One that doeth all this? There is not the least ground to suspect anything wanting in the word of God; adding to his words opens the way to errors and corruptions."

I simply love this particular scripture because when I read it, I can think of only one Person....Jesus, the Messiah....the One and Only Son of God.....born in the flesh, lived among man, died on the cross to redeem us back to the Father, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and sent The Holy Spirit to come live inside all who BELIEVE in HIM!

What more need we know? The Holy Spirit will teach us all things: if any lacks wisdom-ask God!

A Day of Praise

Yesterday I had a full day of alone time with God. Every day, of course, is filled with God, but some days it's so wonderful to just turn on the music, clean house, and praise and worship as I work.

I have my play list set on random, so I never know which song is coming up next (and I like it that way), so I'm often in the mood for a soft gentle song and just when I least expect it, something by Delirious! comes on and I want to stop working and dance for the Lord!

In any case, I love music and am always fascinated by how a fully self-explanatory, emotionally charged 'story' with so much feeling and information can be told in a short song!

I really like songs that can describe a story from the beginning to the end and you get the feeling you know that person's very heart. One of the perfect examples of this is the song, "He's Alive!"
I can feel Peter's pain of betrayal, the crucifixion is truly alive and one can see the Roman soldiers beating and mocking our Lord, as Peter warms himself by the enemies fire and the rooster crows, as he hears that sound and recalls Jesus' words earlier that he would deny Him three times......how he must have felt! Then the story shares with us, that Jesus is ALIVE, and we're forgiven. We are told that heaven's gates are open wide and all who will believe and trust in Him are welcome to enter through the Risen Christ. He's Alive!
I can put these kinds of words to poetry, but the impact of music highlighting the sounds, and melody enunciating the pain and sorrow, the powerful words that carry us along into the scenes are astonishing to me.
Again I say: The Word is a truly POWERFUL instrument!
We must use our every Word, wisely.
HE'S ALIVE!

Whether through song, stories, poetry, or simply conversations, our WORDS are powerful.

Learning to Lean

There is a song by the Blackwood Brothers, that I have always loved. I also like the fact that it's so easy to sing and to remember. (You may listen to it on My PLAY LIST on the side bar of this blog) OR click on this you tube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtLyam5Anjg

Learning to lean-
learning to lean,
I'm learning to lean on Jesus!
Finding more power than I ever dreamed-
I'm learning to lean on Jesus!

Sad, brokenhearted, at an alter I knelt-
I found peace that is so serene,
and all that He asks is a child-like faith,
and a heart that is learning to lean.

Learning to lean-
Learning to lean,
I'm learning to lean on Jesus!
Finding more power than I ever dreamed,
I'm learning to lean on Jesus!

Proverbs 3:5

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding."

Abba,
You will never fail me. I'm so thankful for Your grace and mercy! When I am frightened and alone, when I have unanswered questions, when I feel discouraged and even when I am confronted by fears and doubt- You whisper Your amazing love into my heart.

Praises You Inhabit, Oh, Lord God

"Give ear to my words, oh, Lord! Consider my meditations! Hearken unto the voice of my cry! Oh, Lord, in the morning will I direct my mind and unto Thee will I pray! Oh Lord, my God......when I in AWESOME wonder, how GREAT Thou Art! How GREAT THOU art! Thou art a living stream of crystal waters flowing over my soul, seeping your fragrant cool breath into my being, filling me to overflowing with love and compassion!

I am desperate for Your touch. I seek YOU alone! Your voice I long to hear in the morning hours. I listen through the night for Your trumpet to sound! I look far into the distant sky awaiting your arrival on the clouds of glory. I gaze into the starry night and look for your glorious appearing!

I bow my head in prayer and as I bow before your marvelous throne, my tears flow like soft warm rain. I am in awe of Your presence filling my soul with delight. I raise my arms toward heaven as if to reach out and touch You, oh, Lord. You are so near unto me. I can feel Your breath, as You whisper gentle words of love. I walk along the pathways and You reach out to hold me and whisper "I just Want you to know that I love You, my child!"

I want to skip and dance! I want to shout out praises to You! I could rise up as the eagle!! I could fly away! I truly could, Lord. I truly could!

You put songs in my heart and on my lips. You are like the safety of a harbor in a ferocious storm. You give me warmth and comfort while seas are violently thrashing. You shine light where darkness would have been!

You show me right paths and I follow You because I love You.

You provide the security of a snug little cabin in the snow-capped mountains! You hide me in Your Almighty arms and shelter me there with Your never-ending love!

I am Your created, devoted, indebted

Remember How Much God Loves You!

"I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and to never harm you, plans for  hope and a future!" Jeremiah 29:11

Isaiah 49:16
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.

 ...and again Isaiah 49:16-

"See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem's walls in ruinsI"
I wanted to use both versions of Isaiah because the usage of the translation 'written' reminds me of when young, many girls and boys wrote the name of their 'boyfriend or girlfriend' in the palm of their hands. However, the ink would soon wash away and it would be written again, and perhaps a new 'boyfriend or girlfriend's' name would replace it. I love the version I have ENGRAVED your name in the palm of My hands...it shows that God's love for us and His constant remembrance of us will never be washed away or wear off! He even engraved us in BOTH hands!
We are His and He loves us so much that He knit us together, He has plans for us, and He will never forget us! How Amazing is His love!
He is our Abba Father....our Daddy...our Papa...He wants a relationship with us and that is something to rejoice in!
Let us ENGRAVE HIM in our hearts and live for Him
