Guardian Angels-Are They Real?
We are clearly told to not worship angels. We worship only God, the Father, through Christ, the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit-which is given to all true believers in Christ as the Son of God.
But are there really angels watching over us? Yes. Yes, there are. According to the following scriptures, we really do have angels in an unseen realm, surrounding us.
Not only does God send angels to watch over His people, but God, Himself surrounds us with His Presence. He is also within us as we become believers in Christ-as the Holy Spirit indwells us!
Psalm 34:7
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.
Daniel 3:28
Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him, violating the king's command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God.
Daniel 6:22
"My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime."
Matthew 18:10
"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
Acts 27:23-24
"For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me, saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.'
Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
Throughout the Bible, there are many scriptures about angels. IF you read carefully, and if you are reading through the power of the Holy Spirit, you may be able to discern when it is an angel, or when it's Christ. Usually it will say 'an angel of the Lord' or "The Angel of the LORD."
If it is an angel, the angel will say, "Do not worship me." (Paraphrased) but if it is Christ, He will say, "take off your shoes, you are on holy ground." (Paraphrased)
So, we can usually discern between an angel, which is NOT to be worshipped, and Christ, Whom we worship.
