Sometimes I just awaken feeling that God is calling me to rise up from my slumber. Awaken out of slumber and pray for someone. My first thoughts on awakening are most usually, "How Great Thou Art!" I love to wake up every morning with my first thoughts of God, and how much I love Him.
There are those times, as with everyone, I suppose, when I awaken and shortly after my praise and worship time, I begin to weep. I did that very thing this morning. I kept thinking of how badly I want to write a book that will please God.
I am not after fortune or fame. I just want to share Jesus through my overflowing imaginative fictional/truth stories. The strange thing is I believe that truth is like the old saying, "stranger than fiction" I have so many stories to tell, but no audience.
I've traveled all over the world, I've seen so very much in my sixty-three years...yes, true (although I WISH that part was fiction!), and I've done so many wonderful things. I've learned a lot-yet no one to instruct! I have accumulated a million recipes, and there's so many funny stories to tell about food in foreign places.
If I told you that I have ten thousand pictures, I think that would be an understatement.
I've shared a lot through newsletters and blogs, yet I have wanted that book for nearly my entire sixty-three years! Poems galore, short stories by the dozens, articles for "The Country Journal" in Sheridan, Wyoming, and I even had a "Letters to Lillian" column! I have one published poem in the book "On The Threshold of a Dream"
But you know what? I don't WANT to be on the Threshold of a Dream any longer...I want to WALK through the door!
Please pray for me as I struggle to write my books...I have a dozen swirling around in my head at any given moment! I KNOW my thoughts and ideas are from God! I know they are!
When I wept this morning, it was for once-for myself. I needed HOPE, I needed ENCOURAGEMENT. I got on my face as I do every morning about five or six a.m. and I cried. God led me to the daily devotional called "Words of Hope" today's comment was Jeremiah 29:11....can you believe it???
God said, "I know the PLANS I have for YOU, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
HOPE and a FUTURE! Sometimes I wonder if I have a future at Sixty Three.....I get to thinking my future is my past...I HAD my future when I was a child, a teen, a young adult, and now I'm older.....what future?
God has shown me that as long as I breathe, I have a future-even if it's just the one breath that is my last.
Until then, I'll write and get some of this swirling massive overloaded information onto paper-well, onto the screen, anyway! By the way, have I ever TOLD you that I'm an Information Junkie???
I love stuff. Not just stuff for stuff's sake, though. I love flowers, trees, birds, bricks, rocks, medical information, cross-referencing and re-crossreferencing scripture......just everything seems good to know (well all good is good to know!)
I love knowing the Bible inside out and upside down. I was nicknamed the "walking PDR" in Nursing school and at work. If anyone needed a doctor's number or fax number: 'ask Sue, she knows all that STUFF.'
Well, after sixty some years of adding so much stuff to your brain you gotta let it out somehow!
Thank you for listening...that is unless you stopped a long time ago- if you did, shame on you! You need this STUFF, don't you? It may come in handy sometime!
I've had over twenty-five wonderful years of nursing. BUT did you know that I was 35 before I went to nursing school? It just Proves that God will give you the dream and He will make it come to pass IF you will be His instrument. When you delight in Him (Psalm 37:4-5), He will do it! I hold on to that because I have seen it happen in my own life too many times to not believe it! I also wanted to be a missionary! At fifty something, God gave me that dream as a reality! I served in both east Asia and Eastern Europe, in addition to being given the added blessings of many short trips, and thousands of new friends, brothers and sisters around the world! Dreams do come true!
It may be my August season, but it IS my season for writing what's on my heart for God!
Dear Father,
I thank YOU that You love me and that you have a wonderful plan for my life! Moses was old, Abraham and Sarah were old, men and women of the Bible didn't complain or give up because they hadn't crossed the Threshold of their Dreams at a young age. I give my remaining years to You for whatever dreams you have yet to fulfill in me. You are the one Who is the giver of life and the giver of dreams and desires. You are ALSO the One who makes them come true for us when we put our trust in you and delight to do your will.
I pray that whatever I write will bring honor and glory to Your Holy and Awesome name!

Painter of Light; Painter of Truth!
I have always admired anyone who could, in one short song or picture, depict a complete story. For example, in Thomas Kinkaid's exquisite paintings, he reveals the surreal light that softly glows throughout the scenery. The light literally appears to come from within a home, church, or streetlamp! If the light is from the sun or moon, it streams down as if coming forth from the very heavens. He has a true gift from the "Giver of Light", Himself.
I especially love his painting called The Prayer Garden. Once upon a time, I found it on the internet for about One Thousand dollars....unfortunately I didn't purchase it.....I wanted to wait for a more convenient time! Foolish person! Now, that same painting can't even be found! I did talk to a lady in Savannah, Georgia last summer, and she said the shop owner 'may' sell his...the price-over five thousand. I gulped a few times and made my excuses so I could leave the shop gracefully!
When we find a priceless pearl, we'd better buy it then-the opportunity may never come again!
Amazing Grace has always been one of my favorite songs. It told how truly Amazing the Grace of God is, then along came the lost version; Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone. Now, in just a few more words the song tells a story of how we were chained in darkness, lost, and on our way to an eternity in hell.; but with God's Amazing Grace, we are set free! Our eternity is no longer destined for hell, but for an Eternity with God Almighty! Through the willingly shed blood of Jesus Christ: The Lamb Redeemer, The Perfect Spotless Sacrifice ( Not as offered as a sacrifice as the Pagan's, BUT as a Willing Sacrifice!), The Word Made Flesh, The Way, The Truth, and The Life, The Light of the World, The Prince of Peace, Counselor, Mighty God....did you hear that; The MIGHTY GOD!
The Gospel of John reveals so clearly WHO Jesus Christ REALLY is! The Word was with God and the Word was God, and the Word BECAME FLESH and Dwelt AMONG us! How much clearer can a story be told!?
I listen to those who THINK that Jesus Christ was a mere man, a good teacher, a prophet, and I wonder "Did you EVER read the Bible concerning this Man?" HE was the Word made Flesh...God Himself INCARNATE, and He GAVE His Life for us....Amazing Grace!

If there is ANY wicked way in us, show us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Eternity with You is far greater than any of the world's fading riches. You are far above rubies and gold. Your love is everlasting and Your Kingdom endures forever. Forgive us our sin and lead us Into Your Light! May we walk in Your Light! Teach us to love YOU above all else! Teach us to love our neighbor as ourselves! Teach us to forgive others AS YOU forgave US! Thank You for every blessing, every trial, and for for loving us while we were yet sinners! A HEDGE of PROTECTION!
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 13:5
When my husband and I were in Hong Kong, in January 2006, I was awakened by the HOLY SPIRIT, about two a.m. I often awaken very early in the morning and get out of bed and go get alone with my Father God.
This particular morning we had been traveling for about two weeks. From northern areas of East Asia to Thailand, and then to Hong Kong. I had just the day before this awakening, had a huge kidney stone blasted by lithotripsy. I never take medications, so I know beyond a doubt, this is from God!!!
I was awakened with this belief, thought, and assurance: "I want you and Allan to take a very long "PRAYER JOURNEY" around the BORDERS of AMERICA!"
My answer: "But Lord, why would I think to do this now? I am so tired! I want to go home to be with my family. Gas is more expensive than ever! (at that time!!) How could we do this?"
His answer: "I will see you through anything I call you to do. My grace IS sufficient."
My answer: "Okay, Father, whatever YOU want me to do, I am willing. Father, please convince Allan that it's YOU not me! I will 'STEP OUT of the BOAT in FAITH!!"
I went back to sleep, but when I awakened at my normal time (about five-thirty to six), this was with me stronger than ever. I could hardly wait to tell Allan about it!
I realize that God has HIS timing, but I was ready to go home, see my boys (Grandsons), my family, and hit the road for Jesus and PRAY for the Borders of America!!!!
However, when we got home to America....life happens. The so called 'reality' set in. I like to think of it as what we see as reality in our flesh. True reality is the ETERNAL REALM!
We stayed with our daughter for about a month, made a trip to Florida, to see our home church family and friends, and then......went back to Michigan (NOT really home at that time, but our boys were there!) and we built a house!!!
That was NOT part of our plans! Anyway, after or rather during the house-building project, God called us to Poland (big Michigan!!). We agreed to answer this call, finished our house, and did not live in it even one day!!
We found good Christian renters, got our certificate of occupancy, and left for Poland! God used us there as His instruments of evangelizing and discipleship for two years.
We returned to Michigan, found a church that we love, and began to settle down for awhile. Then we received friends from Poland. We decided to show them around a bit....see some of America! We drove south into a small part of Ohio, Kentucky, Tenn., North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
One evening I was sitting on the sofa, in the condo (My friend's mission house), and I began to cry.
I started to pray, "Oh, Father, I've let YOU down! I have not answered YOUR call to pray around the borders of America! We need YOU now, more than ever! I have FAILED!
I was feeling like the absolute worst possible Christian....FAILING your first love! failing GOD, Who is your CREATOR and SAVIOR!!! How could I do that?
When my friend asked me why was I crying, I told her how I was feeling, and she encouraged me. That night as I prayed, I felt that God was telling me that although I had felt I had failed because I had not done the PRAYER JOURNEY around America, I was STILL called to do the PRAYER JOURNEY.
He made me aware that Poland and time with my family, and the house in Michigan was also part of His plan for me.....that nothing had been a surprise to Him, and nothing had been a 'failure' He made me to know that the journey is still on!
As we headed back north, I took pictures of every state line entrance, and I prayed for each state; that we would turn back to GOD, our CREATOR, and that America will follow the ways of the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!
Psalm 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
We are HIS children....all who are IN Jesus Christ, and we ARE a nation of Christians, and we MUST stand in the GAP and INTERCEDE FOR America!!!
I ask you, I implore you.....PLEASE PRAY for our Leaders, pray for lost souls, pray for those in authority to be LED by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, through CHRIST JESUS!
We are a nation who is SO lost. We have become a nation of tolerating everything BUT Christianity and Christian principles.....we can only survive as a nation IF we turn and repent to our Father God, Jehovah, through JESUS, the Messiah of the world!
If you will, please pray for this PRAYER JOURNEY! Pray that all needs will be met, SO THAT this journey will GLORIFY GOD and TURN this nation TO God!
2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
I need Prayer support, too. I need the finances, I even need a van or some sort of reliable transportation that will get us around the country, and that we can spend a LOT of hours in, while driving and resting, and the finances for food, gas, hotels when needed, and I know that God will see us through.
I will need to truly 'step out of the boat' in absolute FAITH! There are plans to be made, and a lot to think about, to make this happen, but time is of the essence...time is running out for America, and for life on this earth, in general!
WHY ME? I do NOT know! I know that God often calls those who are least likely persons; like Peter, and Andrew, fishermen, and Matthew, a tax collector, etc.
I know that HE uses those by whom HE will receive the GLORY, because those whom HE has chosen are willing, and by whom HE can make the most impact, due to their lack of position, money, power, etc.
I have many times felt my INTERCESSORY calling was a huge mountain but God took me to Zechariah 6:4-10

6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
It is GOD Who DOES the work....we are only the vessel. I am a willing vessel.
I'm not sure anyone even READS this blog! I am just sure of one thing: I know that God has made this call, and if it is truly a plan for me, I want to answer it and go where He leads me!

Oil Spill
Lily: Revelation 16:3
And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
And, Like I've been saying for weeks: WHAT does the blood of a dead man look like?
Thick, Black, Dark, Congealed....sound FAMILIAR????? Now, I in no way am saying THIS oil spill is a prophetic situation........I am saying it could happen this way, however.
Victory Garden Prayer:
Dear Father,
You are the Creator; the Maker of heaven and earth, and all things therein. We Thank You for Your Mercy,Love, and Grace. Your love is never failing. You are worthy of Praise, Honor, and Glory!
Father, in our humanity we fail in so many ways. We have failed miserably in caring for the earth, water, and atmosphere that You have placed in our stewardship. We have many problems in our country right now. We have made many mistakes as a nation. Our nation seems to have taken no thought for doing what is right in your eyes, but that which seems to be right in our own.
Father God, I, for one, repent for my nation. I pray for this country and I thank You every day for the freedoms and blessings You have given to us. We have always been "One Nation Under God" and a nation of "In God We Trust" I ask You, Lord, to open the eyes of our leaders! Turn America back to Your ways and to You, so that we CAN be a Blessed nation whose Lord is God! Lord, I pray with all my heart that America will begin to see how we are NOTHING without YOU!
I ask these things in the very Precious and Holy Name Of Jesus Christ Our Lord and One and Only Savior of the world! I Thank You!

New research is revealing the health benefits of eating nuts. While eating peanuts has been shown to reduce heart disease risks by lowering triglycerides, tree nuts offer many more benefits.
People often worry about the fat in nuts. However, most of that fat is the good kind that protects hearts, while at the same time satisfying the body's need for fat. The result is that nut eaters can lose weight and keep it off. In one Canadian study, those trying to lose weight while satisfying their fat needs with nuts lost an average of nine pounds over 18 months. Over the same trial period, those trying to lose weight with a low-fat diet actually gained an average of six pounds. Another study showed that people who ate two ounces of nuts four or five times a week lowered their risk of heart attack by 50 percent. Yet another study showed that women who ate only five ounces of nuts per week were one third less likely to have a heart attack than those who ate nuts infrequently. Several studies have shown that almonds, macadamia nuts or walnuts lowered high cholesterol by ten percent. Other studies have shown that nut eating can lower the risk of prostate cancer by 30 percent and may lower the risk of colon and stomach cancers.
Nuts are a great gift from God and truly are among the best fruits of the land. Chance would not have evolved all these health benefits in a food clearly designed for us to eat. A loving Creator made them for our good.
