Greetings to friends and family,
This week Allan and I decided to take a brief tour to
Paintsville, Kentucky, where I was born....just to do some sight-seeing, and
visit my parents graves.
After spending the night in beautiful Mount Sterling,
Ky., we took the 'scenic route' along highway 460. As we entered West Liberty we
saw the remains of a beautiful old building. We drove along the streets and saw
a shocking sight. This beautiful small town nestled in the Highlands region of
Kentucky had suffered a terribly destructive category F3 tornado.
In Paintsville, while having lunch at a small café, we
met Wilma. If you know Kentuckians, you know that you don't just meet someone,
you meet a friend, a relative, or the relative of a relative or
friend.
Wilma told us the story of West Liberty and Salyersville
and the destructive forces that leveled the towns. On March 3, 2012, West
Liberty was 'no more' basically.
However, the spirit of our powerful and loving God was
present in that town, in this group of people.... before, during, and after the
tornado. PRAY for them, please!
The reason I'm sending this video is because when we
have trouble, trials, and tests in our daily life, and when we allow the 'cares
of this life' to wear us down and make us doubt......let's remember West
Liberty, Kentucky and the Spirit of a people who will NOT lose faith in
God....will NOT blame Him for everything that happens, but will Praise Him in
the storm as well as in the sunshine.
Thank you for watching this inspiring video......and if
ANYONE can help support West Liberty and/or Salyersville, Kentucky in ANY way,
please do.
You'll be encouraged to have strength to face your
trials as you share in this painful story!
This is a video you can share in your church or possibly
a missions project. They need help badly!
Matthew 25:40
"what you do for the least of these, you have done unto
Me..."
